Tsunami / Poem

The tsunami came with a warning,

The waning of the sea.

Pulled back,

The ocean bed bared like my scars.

How to outrun such a magnetising beast,

Not strong enough to look from its eyes.

Water giving and taking away,

Hold your breath,

Save it for a rainy day.

Heart fell onto the sandy floor,

Not enough time to set it back.

Pulsing in the grains,

Lost on the shore.
