NaNoWriMo 2019 / Playlist

As you may know, NaNoWriMo is fast approaching and I’m excited. While I don’t always listen to music when I write, there’s something fun in making a playlist of songs that suit the vibe of the story, or match a character’s emotions. Here are ten songs for the novel I’ll be writing in November.

1/ Not Ok (Kygo and Chelsea Cutler)

“I can’t believe I’m calling you just to say I’m not ok.”

2/ If I Could Change Your Mind (Haim)

“Now I won’t go, I won’t run away this time.”

3/ Light On (Maggie Rogers)

“Can you feel me now that I’m vulnerable in so many ways, and I’ll never change.”

4/ Mess Her Up (Amy Shark)

“Alright, I’m ready to shake things up.”

5/ Slide Away (Miley Cyrus)

“Think I’m gonna miss these harbour lights but it’s time to let it go.”

6/ Archer (Taylor Swift)

“And I cut off my nose just to spite my face then I hate my reflection for years and years.”

7/ Until We Get There (Lucius)

“Everybody’s gotta get there somehow and I won’t wait another day.”

8/ Can’t Hurry Love (Stephanie Nala cover of The Supremes)

“I need love, love to ease my mind.”

9/ Changing (Sigala feat. Paloma Faith)

“And I’ve been here for too long, going through the same things.”

10/ How Do You Sleep (Sam Smith)

“I won’t lose like that, won’t lose myself.”
