Creative Writing

Poem #2

In the past two days, since deciding to write creatively regardless of purpose, I have written six mini poems and a few fictional paragraphs that don’t fit into my novel.

It’s quite nice, writing aimlessly whilst knowing I’m doing it for myself. It doesn’t have a point which is the point. Rather than saying ‘it’s not worth writing down’ or ‘I’ll delete it because it doesn’t suit my novel’, I’m expressing myself and allowing thoughts and feelings, no matter how small, to be voiced.

Here’s a poem from today:

A poem a day

Is there enough to say

Will the world stop turning

If I use up all its words

If I write that much

Will I even be heard

It’s raining and it’s lovely and I think it’s time for lunch.
