The Art of Knowing Others

Something that I’ve been thinking about a lot recently is people and the relationship we have with them.

Some people that make an impact on us we talk to for only five minutes, and yet they can be the driving force behind some great breakthroughs.

Others we know our whole life, even if there are seasons of silence, and they can be the driving force behind some great breakthroughs.

However long people are in our lives for, they can make an impact. Some people make great impact. And we may only know them for a short time, but they will forever have made an imprint on our heart. We will remember them, because they have somehow shaped part of who we are.

Everyone we are in relationship with have shaped a part of who we are.

What makes us like some people more than others? What draws us to someone instead of someone else? And what is it about them that has made the impact?

I’m not going to answer these questions, because they’re different for everyone. But they are interesting to ponder, because it reflects a part of you as well as a part of them.

No matter how long someone is in our life for, sometimes there will be something of them always.
