The Art of Catching Up

Something that goes up must come down.

This applies to our problems, because they always catch up to us. We can’t run and hide from things.

Sometimes it would be really nice if we could do something without facing the consequence. You know when you regret something and it sucks and you just want to go to bed and wake up and have it all disappear?

But I also can’t help but love the moment of setting things right. Of the relief you feel when your mistake is out in the open. I mean, it’d be nice if the mistake wasn’t made in the first place, but there’s a definite satisfaction in humility.

I don’t know if this makes sense.

I’m just so aware that what we do has consequences and we can’t keep moving forward without facing these consequences. We can’t blame everything on someone else.

What comes up must come down. You can’t throw something in the air and leave it hanging.

You can’t keep living like your life never happened.

Sometimes I look back and I can’t believe some of my memories are my memories. All my memories are times where something has gone up and come back down.

(Someone in front of me got hit in the face with a pillow and I laughed.)
