The Art of Being a Headless Chicken

What if I told you that your next-door neighbour could possibly be a headless chicken?

Don’t quote me on that.

Today I’ve realized that on our own, without God and the people he brings to us, we would be like headless chickens. Running around frantically, trying to see without eyes. Trying to hear without ears. Trying to find our way without any idea of where we are or where we want to go. No concept of why we are here, no concept of what is right and what is wrong. Running into things but never knowing what to do with them.

Today I’ve realized that God really does have my back, and if He’s called me to go to a place and I go, He won’t leave me to my own devices. How silly of me to think that if He’s told me to do something, He won’t follow through, leaving me humiliated and disappointed. He always follows through. If you pray something, He will rock up and own it.

I had a great God-afternoon of worship, and I know that God will continue to carry me through what’s going on in this season.

And I pray that as I journey through life, I become less and less like a headless chicken and more and more like Jesus Christ.
