Creative Writing

The Art of Writing out your Feelings (part 3)

“A Constant Companion”, a poem my me.

A constant companion

wherever she goes

how to rid herself of it

nobody knows.

She’s tried and she’s tried

to let it go

but its hold is strong

and she can’t show

her feelings that keep her locked into them

sometimes an enemy, sometimes a friend

all she knows is that it follows her

it won’t let her sleep

she wonders how much it knows

and if it would keep

what it knows to itself

for there is fear it will tell

or everyone will work it out

by the look on her face

there’s space for something else

but for now it’s ignored

for this one companion

is her only thought

she can’t move an inch

without running into it

only time will tell

but she hopes for more

does she want it to stay

or go

nobody really knows

not any more.

Just a poem I wrote. Even if a piece of writing isn’t polished, it’s a way of expressing yourself on the page, and that’s what I believe is the most important part. Creativity is so a God thing.

Have a go,

Sarah xx
